Worship
Sunday Worship
Services
We offer three worship
services on Sunday Mornings: 8:15am, 9:30am, and 11:00am. Reverend
Kathleen Baskin-Ball preaches at all three services.
Sermons
Suncreek UMC sermons are
regularly recorded and placed on this website. The files are in
RealMedia and MP3 format. You can download the free RealOne player here. For MP3 format, scroll to the bottom of the Sermons page and click the XML button. We also create audio CDs of
sermons each week. These are available at the Information Desk outside the
sanctuary.

Music Ministries
Our Youth Choir provides the primary music leadership for the 8:15am Worship
service. The Worship Team provides musical leadership for the 9:30am
service. The Chancel Choir provides musical leadership for the 11:00am
services. We also have three children’s choirs, three children's chimes
and bell choirs, a youth bell choir, and an Adult
bell choir who often enhance our worship experiences.

Acolytes
Children who are in 4th grade or older are invited to serve as an acolyte during Sunday Morning worship services. If you would like to serve as an acolyte or have any questions, contact Jackie Bohn at (972) 491-1585 or acolyte@Suncreekumc.org. |

Baptism
"For in the one Spirit we
were all baptized into one body-Jews or Greeks, slaves or free-and we were all
made to drink of one Spirit." (I Cor. 12:13)
Baptism is an act in which
we recognize the gift of God’s grace. Baptism is only administered to a person
once. We encourage persons to reaffirm their baptism from time to time. But
reaffirmation should not be understood as the Sacrament of Baptism. At the
1996 General Conference, a new official United Methodist statement on baptism
was adopted. If you would like to learn more, click here to download the pdf file. |
Clergy
In
the United Methodist Church, there are
three categories of clergy: Elders, Deacons, and Local Pastors. For an
explanation of the Different Categories of Clergy in the United Methodist Church click here.
Communion
We celebrate the sacrament of Holy Communion monthly on the first Sunday of the
month during Sunday Morning Worship and at the Tuesday Evening Holy Communion Service listed above. Communion is also offered in other settings. Sometimes Communion is offered at retreats, small group gatherings, weddings, and special worship services.
The table of Holy Communion is Christ’s table, not the table of The United Methodist Church or of Suncreek
UMC. It is open to all regardless of age or church membership. The table is
open to anyone who seeks to respond to Christ’s love and seeks to lead a new
life of peace and love. For more information about Communion, listen to this sermon or read this document.

Ushers
Our ushers do a lot more
than collecting the offering and handing out the worship bulletins. Their
responsibilities include assisting persons in finding a seat when the sanctuary
begins to fill-up, regulating the temperature in the sanctuary, assisting the
acolytes, warmly greeting members and visitors, and counting worship attendance.
We continue to need men and women who will serve the church by being an usher.
To volunteer, contact Doug Kalmbach. |

Weddings
Suncreek UMC is glad to host weddings in our sanctuary. You do not need to be a church member to use our sanctuary. We can assist you in finding a minister to perform the service. If
you are considering having a wedding at Suncreek UMC, call the church office at
(972) 390-1695 to check the availability of specific dates and for detailed
information about our Wedding Policies.

Flowers for Sunday
Worship Services
A gift of flowers for the Sunday Worship
services is a popular way to recognize a special day like a wedding anniversary,
remember a loved one, or say thank you to someone who has touched your life. A sign-up sheet is located on the wall in the
hallway between the sanctuary and church
office. The cost is $60. Contact Jennifer Evans at (972) 390-1695 for additional information.
Listening Aids Available
Headphones
are available during all sanctuary worship services for those who are hearing
impaired. They are available at the sound booth located inside the sanctuary a
few minutes prior to each service.
Worship Committee
The Worship Committee works with our Senior Pastor, Minister of Music, and Associate Pastors to sustain and enhance the church's worship experiences. The committee’s work includes adding elements like seasonal banners to the sanctuary, managing ushering responsibilities, managing acolyte responsibilities, and preparing communion elements.

Sanctuary Organ
In May 2005, we
kicked-off a Special Giving Campaign to purchase a Digital Organ for our
sanctuary. The organ was installed in November of 2005. Our organ is a three-manual, digital
electronic organ manufactured by the Rodgers Instrument Company. This is an instrument that seeks to mimic the sound of a pipe organ through digital
technology and special speakers. |

We Welcome Children
Children are always welcome in worship. Children's time is part of the 9:30am and 11am services on Sunday mornings, except on the first Sunday of the month. Children also have the option of attending Sunday School. The classrooms for our youngest children are very close to the sanctuary. Click here for more information. |

Christmas Eve Worship Services
Our church has a strong tradition of gathering for candlelight worship on Christmas Eve. We typically offer four services including an 11pm service that concludes with singing Silent Night in the first few minutes of Christmas Day.
