General
Meetings
All women of
the church are invited to the United Methodist Women (UMW) General Meetings.
Meetings are typically held monthly on Tuesdays at
6:30pm and include dinner.

Circle Meetings
All women are invited to
join a United Methodist Women circle. A circle is a small group that meets
monthly for study, fellowship, and missions-related activities. UMW circle
meeting dates and times are listed in the Sunday Worship Bulletin and the Church
Newsletter. Come visit a circle soon!
Alpha-Omega Circle
Love to Read? Join the Alpha-Omega Circle! Suncreek United Methodist Women
has a Christian Book Club! The Book Club is called the Alpha-Omega Circle, and
meets once a month on Friday mornings, September through May. Each September we
choose four books from the UMW Reading Program to read during the upcoming year,
one from each of the Reading Program categories (Spiritual Growth, Education for
Mission, Social Action, and Nurturing for Community). In addition, we
choose Christian books from other sources that we would like to read and discuss
in the upcoming months. The group usually meets at 9:00am on the first
Friday of the month. Childcare is
available, but please make reservations ahead of time. For more
information contact Valerie Dalton.
T.G.I.F. Circle
This circle is for girls in 7th through 12th grades. T.G.I.F. stands
for Teen Girls in Faith and Fellowship. This group does not have a
regular meeting time. Consult the "This
Week" page for future meeting times. Additional information is
available from Pat Pierson or Jan Baldwin.
Annual Events

Women’s
Retreat
The UMW sponsors an annual women’s retreat the first weekend in February. All the women
of the church are invited to attend. Register early, because space is limited
to 40. In the past the retreat has been held at the Kaleo Lodge. The
retreat includes bible study, games, quiet time, long walks in the woods,
fabulous food, and fellowship.
T-shirt and Shorts
Collection
The UMW sponsors an annual collection for missions during Lent.

Mother Daughter Banquet
The UMW hosts an annual Mother-Daughter Banquet on a Friday evening in May. The event includes dinner,
door prizes, and a program. Invite your mother, mother in law, daughter, or a
special friend to be your guest. Tickets are sold in advance. The male Suncreek youth serve as waiters for
the evening. Proceeds from the event and tips given to the waiters go to
support the Summer Youth Mission Trips.
Wesley Rankin Benefit
The UMW is a supporter of the annual benefit for the Wesley Rankin Center that occurs in
November. Wesley Rankin is a
community center in West Dallas that provides support, education, and hope to
the West Dallas community. It was founded in 1902 by women from six Methodist
Churches. In the past, the Suncreek UMW has supported the annual benefit by
addressing invitations and decorating the room.
UMW Library
The Suncreek UMC United Methodist Women Library
is currently located on the shelves between the kitchen and Room A105. To checkout a book from the UMW Library, write your name, phone number, and the date on the card located in the pocket on the inside
front cover of the book. Leave the card in the box provided.
The majority of the Library’s books are from
the UMW Reading Program list. This program offers a well-rounded
approach to reading and growing in your faith. If you read one book per year
from each category, and read Response magazine regularly, you will have
completed the Annual Reading Program. You can complete the Reading
Program at higher levels by reading additional books from the various
categories.
The library’s books are color-coded to indicate
what category they are in:
Spiritual Growth
Yellow
Education for Mission Green
Social Action
Red
Nurturing for Community Blue
There are also Reading Program books for
children and youth. See the brochure next to the UMW Library for more details.
