Suncreek United Methodist Men (UMM) is a supportive fellowship of men seeking to know Jesus Christ and in turn grow spiritually. UMM does this through a common bond of Fellowship, Outreach, Witness, and Service. UMM is founded in the sincere belief that God calls us to be spiritual leaders in our communities, and to be stronger husbands, fathers, mentors, employees, and friends.

Monthly Friday Morning Meetings

Join us for our regular meetings at 7:00 am, the first Friday of each month in Palmer Hall. A Continental Breakfast is served before the beginning of the meeting at 6:45 am.

Through these meetings we seek to actively support the United Methodist Church, Suncreek United Methodist Church, and the Community and its youth. To broaden our meeting discussions, church and community leaders are invited to attend as guest speakers, providing insight and interest to issues that impact us. In recent past, we have enjoyed the company of Bill Rushing - Allen Chief of Police, Tim Dentler - Allen Parks and Recreation Director, Ellen Palmer - church liaison for UMCOR, and Tony Hill - Allen Recreational Services Manager and former Dallas Cowboy wide receiver.

E-mail Notices
Our group periodically sends out e-mail messages to remind members about the next meeting and other special activities. If you would like your name added to this list, send you name and
e-mail address to Chuck Daniels at UMM@suncreekumc.org

Men's Spiritual Study Group

This group meets every other Wednesday in Room B107. It was started by SUMM to provide an avenue for spiritual study of topics of interest to all men, while deepening our understanding of God's word. For more information, contact Chris Jones, the group leader.

Fathers & Youth Picnic
The Methodist Men hosts an annual picnic for the church youth and their fathers - building camaraderie between the Methodist Men and the youth of the church.

Allen Community Outreach
We volunteer our time to support Allen Community Outreach, which provides emergency assistance to families in the Allen, Lucas, and Fairview area.

Weekend Retreats
In the Spring and Fall, we offer Men's Weekend Retreats. These retreats provide an excellent opportunity for spiritual growth and relationship building. We invite the male youth of the church to join us for the Fall Retreat. Retreat activities include fellowship, devotions, bonfires, horseback riding, hiking, and horseshoe and washer tossing.

Pancake Breakfast
We host an annual pancake breakfast with a noted speaker. Funds raised from this event support United Methodist Missions and Suncreek's Youth Ministries. Our first pancake breakfast featured Jim Sunberg, former Texas Rangers catcher.

United Methodist Men's Sunday
Each year, we plan a special UMM Sunday on which UMM members are responsible for leading most aspects of Sunday Morning Worship.

Other Ways We Help
The United Methodist Men seek to support Suncreek UMC in a variety of ways. Members of our group often volunteer to help with other Church projects. We participate in Amigos Days (a Dallas home repair and church renewal project), Ramp and Roll (construction of ramps for the disabled), and the SUMW (Suncreek United Methodist Women) Mother Daughter Banquet. Recently, the Methodist Men made a significant Honorarium donation to the church to purchase furnishings for the new building.

Community Veterans Breakfast and Celebration
The Suncreek United Methodist Men hosted a community veterans celebration during February 2005.   The feature speaker was Congressman Sam Johnson.  Click here for more information and photos of this event.
