We celebrate the sacrament of Holy Communion monthly on the first Sunday of the month during Sunday Morning Worship and at the Tuesday Evening Holy Communion Service listed above.  Communion is also offered in other settings.  Sometimes Communion is offered at retreats, small group gatherings, weddings, and special worship services.

The table of Holy Communion is Christ’s table, not the table of The United Methodist Church or of Suncreek UMC.   It is open to all regardless of age or church membership. The table is open to anyone who seeks to respond to Christ’s love and seeks to lead a new life of peace and love.

August
Our communion offering on August 1st will benefit the Samaritan Inn located in McKinney. Since 1984, The Samaritan Inn, a non-profit organization, has helped thousands of homeless people in Collin County regain their independence with comprehensive programs and the help of caring individuals and corporations. The Samaritan Inn was established in 1984 after community leaders joined together to address the issue of homelessness in Collin County. Twenty five years later, The Samaritan Inn is still the only homeless shelter in a county of over 762,000 residents. Your donation will help those struggling in our own county with much needed shelter, food, and safety.

September
Our communion offering for September 5th will go to support mission trip scholarships for adults and college students in our congregation who really feel called by God to join a Suncreek mission team, but they do not have the financial resources to participate.  Your contribution will nurture the joy and spirit of a Suncreek family member as they reach out in love to others.

October
World Communion Sunday will be October 3rd.  World Communion Sunday – celebrated the first Sunday in October – is one of the most venerable of “special Sundays.” The day has taken on new relevancy and depth of meaning in a world where globalization often has undermined peace and justice – and in a time when fear divides the peoples of God's earth.  On this day we celebrate our oneness in Christ, the Prince of Peace, in the midst of the world we are called to serve – a world ever more in need of peacemaking.

November
Our communion offering on November 7th will go to support the Suncreek pastor’s discretionary account.  This account is used to help Suncreek members who need a little assistance for medical, financial or other reasons.  The fund is also used to help members in our community who find themselves in need of some assistance and extra support.  This fund has been used to provide love and support for many who have found themselves in a place where they need a little extra love and support from their church family.  Your donation will truly make a difference to someone in need.
