We celebrate the sacrament of Holy Communion monthly on the first Sunday of the month during Sunday Morning Worship and at the Tuesday Evening Holy Communion Service listed above.  Communion is also offered in other settings.  Sometimes Communion is offered at retreats, small group gatherings, weddings, and special worship services.

The table of Holy Communion is Christ’s table, not the table of The United Methodist Church or of Suncreek UMC.   It is open to all regardless of age or church membership. The table is open to anyone who seeks to respond to Christ’s love and seeks to lead a new life of peace and love.

Cans for Communion
In celebration of Holy Communion Suncreek United Methodist Church’s mission committee would like to ask you to consider bringing a canned food item to the mission bins on communion Sundays.  Cans for Communion is a way of expressing our thanks for Jesus’ love and sacrifice by reaching out to those in our community who need our help and grace.  Your donation to “Cans for Communion” will be delivered to a local food pantry each month.

Communion Offering
February
Souper bowl
The communion offering for February 5th will go to support the local food pantries.  Texas has one of the highest rates of child food insecurity in the nation.  Your love offering will go to help insure that children and families in our own community have food available through our local food pantries.

March
Allen Shoe Ministry
Saturday, March 24th Suncreek UMC will host the fourth annual Allen Shoe Ministry.  This ministry has provided almost 500 pairs of shoes to children in Allen.  Each child receives a new pair of shoes, two pairs of socks, toothbrush and toothpaste.  Your love offering will go to help ensure no child goes without shoes and they have happy faces and feet. If you would like to assist with this ministry please contact Janet Hunt in the church office.

May
Boyd Summer Lunch Program
The communion offering for May will go to support Suncreek’s week of providing food, games, and crafts through the Boyd Summer Lunch Program.  Each summer Suncreek feeds an average of 90 people per day through this ministry.  These families receive free or reduced lunch throughout the school year.  Without the Boyd Summer Lunch Program these children and their families would not receive the nutrition they need during the summer months.  If you would like to help with this ministry this year June 4th-8th please contact Janet Hunt in the church office.

June
Project Transformation
Every year Suncreek UMC supports Project Transformation by sponsoring an intern, providing dinner and snacks for the summer interns, and providing snacks for the children in this ministry. Project Transformation® is a nonprofit, Christian organization that provides ministry exploration and leadership development opportunities to college-aged young adults, and community oriented programs for children and youth living in low-income neighborhoods of North Texas .

July
English Camp, Czech Republic
Suncreek UMC will conduct it’s sixth annual English Camp in the Czech Republic July 14th-21st.  After forty years of Communision the Czech Republic lost it’s Christian heritage and it is now considered to be the most aethistic country in the world. Each year a team from Suncreek goes to develop relationships, friendships, and to share the love of Christ with people of all ages through English Camp.  Your offering helps to provide supplies to help make the English Camp a fun and rewarding experience for all.  Each year the English Camp team from Suncreek has watched the participants open up their hearts and minds to the concept of Christianity and to new friendships.  The transformations have been amazing and filled with the Holy Spirit.

Christ's Foundry
Suncreek UMC is in a five year commitment to help support the building fund of Christ’s Foundry. Christ Foundry is both a church and a community center that seeks to serve the spiritual and temporal needs of the Spanish-speaking neighborhood in North Dallas .  Their mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ through helping children, youth and families.  Suncreek takes this offering in September every year in rememberance of Reverend Kathleen Baskin Ball whose dream was to make sure that our Spanish speaking neighbors had a church home and community in which to grow in their faith walk.
