We celebrate the sacrament of Holy Communion monthly on the first Sunday of the month during Sunday Morning Worship and at the Tuesday Evening Holy Communion Service listed above.  Communion is also offered in other settings.  Sometimes Communion is offered at retreats, small group gatherings, weddings, and special worship services.

The table of Holy Communion is Christ’s table, not the table of The United Methodist Church or of Suncreek UMC.   It is open to all regardless of age or church membership. The table is open to anyone who seeks to respond to Christ’s love and seeks to lead a new life of peace and love.

March
The communion offering on March 7th will go to the support the Tarahumara Indians in Copper Canyon, Mexico.  Suncreek will take their fourth team to Copper Canyon April 20-25th, 2010 to distribute food and supplies to the Indians.  We will also be building dorms for future mission teams that will travel to the area to minister to the Indians.  The Tarahumara Indians are a very proud, religious and private group of people that face many hardships.  They are very poor and they face many persecutions in their country.  Today the Tarahumara live in caves, under cliffs and in small wood and stone cabins in remote areas.  They live a simple life undisturbed by modern technologies.  They are known as a quiet and considerate people who are expert farmers and runners.  Due to severe drought in northern Mexico, the Tarahumara have suffered famine in the past few years.  Your donation will help to provide food, medicine, blankets and supplies for the building project to help these proud and hardworking people. For more information about joining the mission team please contact Janet Hunt in the church office.

Easter Love Offering

April 4, 2010

Our Easter love offering will help support Suncreek’s ongoing partnership with Proyecto Abrigo, which means Project Shelter,  in Mexico and the ministry of building cinder block homes for families living in cardboard or wood pallet homes.  Suncreek has been traveling to Mexico for over seven years and we have built over 70 homes for families in need.  The cost of each home to build is $3,000.  Your offering will help Suncreek continue to bless families in need with a new home that will provide needed shelter from the cold and heat.
