Suncreek United Methodist Men (UMM) is a supportive fellowship of men seeking to know Jesus Christ and in turn grow spiritually. UMM does this through a common bond of Fellowship, Outreach, Witness, and Service. UMM is founded in the sincere belief that God calls us to be spiritual leaders in our communities, and to be stronger husbands, fathers, mentors, employees, and friends.

Mark your calendars to join us for the May UMM Meeting. We are gathering at 7:00 pm. next Tuesday night, May 4 for fellowship at Steve Bohn's home located at 3237 Clymer Drive, Plano, TX, 75025. Click here for Mapquest directions.
Bob Barnes will lead our devotion on "The Glue That Bonds"...
• How many different types of glue does it take to make a window envelope?
• How does glue play a role in the granite walls of a bank building?
• How does a brewery get labels off returnable bottles?
• What's involved in making a corrugated box?
• Do horses get converted into glue? Fish? Blood? Cows?
The questions are endless. The answers might be interesting. Bob says that INDUBITABLY there is a Spiritual Bond in the midst of all the Hydrogen-Bonds, Co-Valent Bonds, Ionic-Bonds, Dipole-Bonds, Inter-Molecular-Bonds, Aromatic-Bonds, Metallic-Bonds, etc. But, he'll leave out the complicated stuff.
Look forward to seeing you. Please RSVP if you plan to attend & bring a friend!
Through these meetings we seek to actively support the United Methodist Church, Suncreek United Methodist Church, and the Community and its youth. To broaden our meeting discussions, church and community leaders are invited to attend as guest speakers, providing insight and interest to issues that impact us. In recent past, we have enjoyed the company of Bill Rushing - Allen Chief of Police, Tim Dentler - Allen Parks and Recreation Director, Ellen Palmer - church liaison for UMCOR, and Tony Hill - Allen Recreational Services Manager and former Dallas Cowboy wide receiver.
E-mail Notices
Our group periodically sends out e-mail messages to remind members about the next meeting and other special activities. If you would like your name added to this list, send you name and
e-mail address to Steve Bohn at UMM@suncreekumc.org
Letters from Dad Men's Ministry
Suncreek Connections and UMM sponsored the "Letters from Dad" series this past Spring. There were 38 men who participated in the legacy small group sessions. Letters from Dad helps fathers share things they have always wanted to say but didn't know how.
For more information on the next series, call or e-mail Scott Vedane at 214.206.8436 or umm@suncreekumc.org.
This group meets every other Wednesday in Room B107. It was started by SUMM to provide an avenue for spiritual study of topics of interest to all men, while deepening our understanding of God's word. For more information, contact Chris Jones, the group leader.
Allen Community Outreach
We volunteer our time to support Allen Community Outreach, which provides emergency assistance to families in the Allen, Lucas, and Fairview area.
In the Spring and Fall, we offer Men's Weekend Retreats. These retreats provide an excellent opportunity for spiritual growth and relationship building. We invite the male youth of the church to join us for the Fall Retreat. Retreat activities include fellowship, devotions, bonfires, horseback riding, hiking, and horseshoe and washer tossing.
Caring Heart Helping Hands - 8th Annual Suncreek Golf Classic
Mark your calendars! We will participate in this very special golf tournament on Sunday, September 26 at Twin Creeks Golf Club. This event will benefit CITY House and Suncreek UMM Missions. We are now accepting sponsors and volunteers to help with event planning and preparations. More information coming soon. Click Here to view the current flier.
Other Ways We Help
The United Methodist Men seek to support Suncreek UMC in a variety of ways. Members of our group often volunteer to help with other Church projects. We participate in Amigos Days (a Dallas home repair and church renewal project), Ramp and Roll (construction of ramps for the disabled), and the annual church-wide garage sale.
