Children’s Sunday School

Starting June 5th, children and youth will move up to the grade they will be entering in the fall. We will not have Sunday School Live! during the summer – children will go directly to their classrooms.
Children’s Ministries offers a special 5th grade Sunday school class called Faith Zone at 9:30 in preparation for next year’s Confirmation class. Children in 5th grade will meet in A107 for fellowship as they explore a deeper understanding of their faith. For more information, contact Adriene Morgan.
Second Grade Bibles
2nd grade Bible presentation August 28 at 9:30 and 11:00 services Each year, Suncreek United Methodist Church gives Bibles to our incoming 2nd graders. Pastor Tom will present your child with a Bible during the 9:30 and 11:00 services on August 28th. We use these Bibles in our Rotation Sunday school and encourage the children to bring them every week. Please email Adriene Morgan with the name of your child and service time you plan to attend. Nursery
We offer childcare in our nursery at 8:15, 9:30 and 11:00 am for infants and toddlers in room B110. Pagers are available for infants, toddlers and 2 year olds. If your child needs you during the worship service, the pager with vibrate. At that time, the parent is asked to come to their child's Sunday school room. For the protection of your children, only a parent can check children in or out of classes. Please notify the childcare staff of any information that is critical to the well being of your child, such as food allergies, medical conditions, or any other conditions. All information is completely confidential and known only to the necessary staff.
Special Needs Ministry
All children are welcome at Suncreek! Please inform us of any special needs your child has, which may include: allergies, asthma, epilepsy, hearing or vision impairments, learning differences or any mental, physical or emotional challenges. This information will remain confidential between the family, the teachers and Minister with Children. Our special needs classroom, Noah’s Place (C127) is available for children as needed.
Early Christian Awareness, infants and toddlers
This program ages 9 months to 24 months teaches basic Christian concepts using sensory stimulation. Young children learn through their senses. This program stimulates the child’s perception through seeing, hearing, touching, smelling and even tasting. You may register your child at 9:30 am in the nursery.
2 year olds through Kindergarten
Children 2 years old through Kindergarten are offered Sunday school classes at both 9:30 and 11:00 am. Click here for where to go.
2nd grade – 4th grade
Children in 2nd – 4th grade gather at the beginning of the hour for Sunday School Live! We’ll review our theme for the month and discuss the Bible story. At 9:30 am we gather in C122. Sunday School Live! meets in C111 at 11:00.
Rotation Sunday School
Following Sunday School Live, children rotate to four different stations throughout the month where they’ll experience the Bible story through games, art and cooking, drama and computers.
Acolyte program
Children in 4th through 8th grade are eligible to participate in our Acolyte program. Each week, two children carry in our processional cross and light and extinguish the altar candles in our chancel area. In the Methodist tradition, the lighting of the altar candles in the worship service is a symbol of Jesus’ coming into the presence of the worshipping community. It also symbolizes the light of Jesus Christ going out into the world where believers are called to serve. 6th grade confirmation
The journey of faith is like the journey of life…high points, bumps in the road, twists and turns. For those in 6th grade, Confirmation lays the foundations of faith that will be a building block for a life filled with purpose and passion. Confirmation has started this year, but if you missed it, it is not to late! We will be meeting throughout the year for meaningful and fun events. This is a great chance for youth to explore the roots of the faith and begin a faith journey of their own. For more information about Suncreek Youth Click Here
