What We’re About The Suncreek Children’s Development Center (SCDC) is a ministry of Suncreek United Methodist Church. SCDC seeks to provide learning opportunities for children in a safe and loving environment that are developmentally appropriate, intellectually stimulating, and spiritually nurturing. Our Director
Lisa Newman is the Director of Suncreek Children’s Development Center. Lisa began serving in this position in March 2008. She has a B.A. in Elementary Education from the University of Northern Iowa. She served as a second grade teacher after completing her education. Lisa brings over 12 years of experience teaching preschool aged children. This includes previously serving as the Preschool Director at Our Savior Lutheran Church in McKinney. You may e-mail her at Lisa.Newman@SuncreekUMC.org.
Our Teachers Activities are planned and directed by caring adults who are chosen for their skills with children and commitment to Christian education. Suncreek Children’s Development Center currently employs 28 staff members. Our Playground We recently expanded our existing playground. We have added new equipment and created a separate play area for our younger students. In May 2009, we moved the playground for our younger children to an enclosed area between the sanctuary and our Education Building. In a few years, the church plans to construct a new playground for older children that is closer to the new children's classrooms. Our Facility In the Spring of 2009, Suncreek United Methodist Church moved into the new education building. We are very excited about our new home! We operate Mondays through Thursdays from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Our calendar follows Allen ISD for holidays. Below is what we will offer for the 2010-2011 school year: 18 month olds: Mondays & Wednesdays or Tuesdays & Thursdays (2 day) 2's: Mondays & Wednesdays or Tuesdays & Thursdays (2 day) 3's: Mondays, Wednesdays & Thursdays (3 day) 4's: Mondays, Wednesdays & Thursdays (3 day) or Mondays - Thursdays (4 day) Please call the preschool office for more information at 972-727-4300.
