Suncreek UMC offers nursery care for infants through two-year-olds each Sunday morning from 8:15 to 12:00 noon.  Sunday School classes are scheduled for children ages three and older.  Children of any age are also welcome in our worship services!   Childcare is provided for children of all ages for most church events and meetings.

Nursery Care
Infants, toddlers, and 2 yr olds are cared for in our new building (Rooms B105,  B106, and B109.  Room placement in our nurseries is based on children’s developmental abilities such as crawling or walking.

Security, Pagers, Pick-up
In order to provide the safest environment for your children, we ask that only parents, or adult caregivers, sign-in and pick-up children from the Nursery.  We also ask that parents/caregivers and other children not enter rooms during sign-in and pick-up times.  Parents have the option of picking up a pager in their child’s classroom.  This permits our nursery staff to contact the parents if their child has a need.

Please Pick-Up Children Promptly
As a courtesy to our teachers and parent volunteers, we ask parents to pick up children within five minutes after Worship Services or Adult Sunday School classes. You are welcome to resume fellowship with friends after picking up your child.

Child Care
The Nursery and Child Care Director arranges childcare for most church events and meetings.   For many large events, no advance reservations are required.  For small events and meetings, advanced reservations are required.  To check the childcare arrangements for a specific event,  or if you are leading a church activity and would like to request childcare services for the activity, contact the Nursery and Child Care Director at childcare@suncreekumc.org or call the church office at (972) 390-1695.

Illness Policy

Children should be free of fever, vomiting, diarrhea, and/or rashes for 24 hours before being left in a nursery or classroom and also free of extreme congestion or coughing.  If a child has any of these symptoms after being checked in, someone will locate the parents.  Parents of a child with chronic health problems should talk to the Minister with Children to make special arrangements to meet the child’s needs.  Church caregivers are not allowed to administer medications of any kind.

Children with Special Needs

In order to create the most positive experience for all children, it is extremely important that we are aware of any special needs a child may have.  Parents are asked to inform the staff and teachers of any special needs such as allergies, asthma, epilepsy, hearing or vision impairments, learning disabilities or any mental, physical or emotional challenges.  This information will remain confidential between the family and the Children’s Ministry leadership.
