3 to 5 Camps
The Conference usually offers three camps in June and July for students that have completed grades 3 to 5 in the spring. The camps usually begin on Tuesday at 3pm and conclude on Saturday at 10am. The camps are held at Camp Bridgeport. The cost is approximately $185. SEEK Camp The Conference offers four camps for persons with disabilities. SEEK stands for Summer Events for Exceptional Kampers. The camps serve persons with a wide range of different disabilities. Some campers have uncomplicated mild cognitive delays. Other campers have complex clusters of symptoms that include major cognitive and motor delays and related medical problems. The Children’s camp is usually held in late June. Our own Rev. Kathleen Baskin-Ball has directed one of the SEEK camps. Rev. Wally Butts, our former Associate Pastor, and Rev. Kathleen Baskin-Ball have served as the Camp Pastor. Several Suncreek UMC members have attended a SEEK camp as participants, junior counselors, or counselors. Music/Arts Camps The North Texas Conference offers two Music/Arts camps each summer. The Children’s Music/Arts Camp is for those that have completed 3rd though 5th grade in the spring. The Youth Music/Arts Camp is for students who have completed grades 6 to 8.
